Dr. Erin Kalo grew up in Mishawaka, IN, with an older brother, several pets, and wonderful parents who encouraged all her projects over the years. Her interest in veterinary medicine intensified through her involvement in 4-H, equestrian activities, and the mentorship of local veterinarians.
Dr. Kalo earned her Bachelor’s degree in animal science and then completed veterinary school at Purdue University in 2002. She has been in private practice since 2002, primarily in small animal and equine practice.
Dr. Kalo’s areas of interest are internal medicine, acupuncture, and complementary medicine. In her quest to offer her patients and clients additional treatment options, Dr. Kalo completed training through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.
Her husband, Steven is active duty Air Force. Steven often joins Dr. Erin on emergency veterinary calls. During her free time, Dr. Kalo enjoys running, horseback riding, and spending time with her active family. She has 4 dogs and a horse, and is very excited about the farm they just purchased where they can add to the animal herd.
