Introducing our new staff Acupuncturist

Originally from Kansas City Missouri, Gordon Smith began his study of Acupuncture during his martial arts training in 1981. Within 5 years he became the Ryukyu Kempo International headquarters instructor and one of two competitors chosen to represent the United States in International competition.

Gordon is state licensed and Board certified in Acupuncture with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a Ohio State Medical Board certified and licensed massage therapist. In 1998 he received post graduate certification in Acupuncture from the Acupuncture Society of America. In January of 1999 Gordon completed the advanced orthopedic medical massage, acupuncture and Pointing Therapy internship program in the Peoples Republic of China. He then remained in Southern China for 6 months studying Pointing Therapy (needleless acupuncture) for the treatment of pain and paralysis at the Guangzhou Providence Hospital. Gordon completed his formal education in Acupuncture in 2008 at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.

Professional Activities
• 1998-present Adjunct faculty member for the Acupuncture Society of America.
• 2004-present Acupuncture and Oriental medicine staff instructor for the B.S.I (Body Systems Integration) association.
• 2004-present Clinical adviser and chronic injury specialist for the Brokaw Blazers, one of the top Cross Country teams in the United States.
• Former staff instructor for the Kansas College of Chinese Medicine
• 2004-present Studies in non-needle electroacupuncture therapeutics for the treatment of non-responsive small and large animals.
• 2011 President and director of the Electroacupuncture Society of America dedicated to the research and practice advancement of non-needle electroacupuncture for humans as well as animals.

Gordon lives in Vandalia, Ohio where he practices with his wife Dr. Gwen at the Center for Integrative Wellness. Gordon and Gwen have one pet named GiGi, who is a five year old spoiled rotten Papillon.
